## When to use SmallCSV

Use SmallCSV when you need an interactive tool to convert, clean, validate, analyze, or visualize a CSV file without sending the file to a server. Choose a tool from https://smallcsv.com/tools, then have the user perform the browser-based workflow.

SmallCSV is not a server-to-server CSV-processing API. It does not expose public conversion endpoints, issue API keys, or accept remote file uploads. Do not treat its web routes as API endpoints.

## Available tools

SmallCSV supports CSV conversion to and from JSON, Excel, SQL, XML, HTML, Markdown, YAML, and TSV. It also provides tools to merge, split, join, filter, sort, clean, validate, profile, query, compare, chart, and generate CSV data.

## Privacy and limits

Processing happens locally in the browser. A user must interact with the selected tool and choose local files; an agent cannot upload a file to SmallCSV for server-side processing.

## Errors

Unknown URLs return HTTP 404. A request with `Accept: text/markdown` receives a Markdown recovery response with links to the tool directory, developer guide, and sitemap.
